DATE OF BIRTH: 9 February 2003
As a 20-year-old Swiss sailor born in Geneva, I have been sailing since a young age on our family boat, a Suspens, for cruises and races on Lake Geneva. With my family, we have regularly chartered sailboats at sea and accumulated numerous nautical miles on different vessels, which has allowed me to gain valuable experience and obtain my offshore sailing license this year. I started competitive sailing at the Versoix Sailing Club at the age of 12, initially in Laser and then in 29er. I also received training from CER in J70. Additionally, I worked as a sailing instructor for my club and a private organization for several years.
In 2020, I had the opportunity to do a month-long internship in Lorient with the "Sailing Team La Fabrique," alongside Alan Roura (Vendée Globe 2016, 2020, and 2024) and sailed the Figaro 3 with Justine Mettraux (Vendée Globe 2024) during an intensive delivery trip. From then on, my love for offshore sailing was firmly established, and I decided to undertake a full Mini 6.50 project, from building a Pogo 3 to participating in my first races, all while completing my Bac + 2 studies in Geneva. In 2022, I competed in 8 Mini races in 5 different countries and completed my 1000-mile non-stop qualification in 7 days.
With the goal of pursuing a professional skipper career offshore and following a meeting with Samantha Davies last February, I am starting the 2023 season sailing the Figaro 3 alongside the Mini, aiming for the Tour Voile in July. After only 5 outings on Nemo, I participated in the Laura Vergne Trophy in double-handed sailing and the 4 days of Spi Ouest France in crewed races. The rest of the year will be dedicated to solo training on Nemo at Lorient Grand Large to prepare for the 2024 Elite Offshore Racing Championship as a newcomer, with the ultimate goal of competing in the Solitaire du Figaro.
